Dear Editor,
One thing gives me hope in a way I haven’t felt since I was a teenager. Trump’s threats against our economy and our sovereignty as a nation have ignited the being of Canadians. I don’t see it as nationalism, but unity in our incredible diversity. I have seen First Nations, Quebecois, Eastern Canadians, Albertans, Immigrants, and Refugees, here in Port Alberni and all over, sharing their shock and their common reaction.
We citizens of this wonderful country have been given the opportunity to again fly our Canadian flags without it being associated with division. We fly the flag for Canada and all Canadians and as a message to the United States that our country will not be insulted, attacked, or absorbed.
Oh Canada!
