I found the answer to my question last time about “how to become an election monitor”. And in the process, found a very cool and interesting website.
CANADEM is a non-profit agency dedicated to advancing international peace and security through the recruitment, screening, promotion and rapid mobilization of Canadian expertise.
These are the people who were in charge of recruiting election monitors for the new vote in Ukraine. This is a website that I’m certainly going to keep in my bookmarks.
In fact, it looks like they were swamped by requests to be observers in Ukraine. So much so that their regular application process has been suspended and they’re focusing completely on Ukraine.
The deadline to submit your application to be part of the Ukraine mission is December 9! If you can, give up your Christmas to help Ukraine fulfill its’ democratic dream!
