Not surprising really, but the CBC is reporting that Ed Broadbent will retire from politics and not run for re-election when a Federal Election is inevitably called in the next few weeks/months.
It’s too bad because he is a class act and was a great NDP leader. He led the NDP to 43 seats in 1988. Their best showing ever.
It will be difficult for Layton to find someone to replace him both as an MP and representative but also as a strong voice for the NDPs most basic values.
Oh no! That’s terrible! What a loss.
