Good morning.
Theresa read the blog yesterday and exclaimed.
“You didn’t tell them about when she slept for 9 hours!”
My Bad!
I generally take over the overnight duties on Friday and Saturday. It gives Theresa at least some break and a chance to catch up on some sleep.
Anyway, on Friday night last week, we put Miss Jade to bed at 9PM. Pretty normal… I was all set to wake up around 12 or 1AM to feed her again, but when I woke up I looked over and it was 4AM! I listened intently for the familiar sounds of panicked sucking of fingers and thumb through the baby monitor but could only hear the gentle cooing of a sleeping Baby.
I agonized for awhile… do I feed her anyway? Should I just let a sleeping [baby] lie? I went back to sleep…
I woke up again at 5:30 to the sounds of stirring from the room. I went in.. picked her up. And she promptly started snorring again. This time Theresa had woken up as well.. so I’m standing in the hall.. with a near-dead baby on my shoulder.
“What should I do with her?”
“Put her back to bed… she wake up when she’s hungry”
“Fair enough”.
Sure enough… an hour later… I woke again to the sounds of a hungry baby!
She didn’t stop eating for the rest of the day. 😉
